We have all seen the ab workout machines as seen on tv and I’ll have to admit, they put off a pretty convincing sales message. But what we have to realize is that these gimmicks are just a sales pitch to a lazy target base who is willing to spend money in order to shape their abs as quick and as effortless as possible. I know, I was one of them!
What I soon found out after using the ab rocker to death is that it didn’t help much for losing the tire around my belly. So after trying a handful of abdominal workout machines to no avail, I then found the truth…ab workout machines are only good at strengthening the core and tightening the ab muscles.
So in that regard, yes, they will certainly make you feel more stabilized and increase your balance and toughen up your gut. But if you are looking to buy any of these ab exercise machines specifically to lose weight and rid your belly of that ugly fat, save your money because it will not get the job done.
How to Really See Results in your Abs:
What most people do not realize is that underneath all of the belly blubber, therein lies a nice looking sexy set of abs. So instead of using abs workout machines to rip and tone the abs, you should instead use a different approach and work on getting rid of the tire around the belly so you can visibly see the abs.
What this will entail is probably something you have heard of before but unfortunately have been trying to avoid…diet and exercise.
Diet in the definition we know it as, is not at all an appealing word. So let’s instead call this part of the process “changing the relationship we have with food”. Because in a sense, that’s exactly what it is. Become knowledgeable about the foods you are eating that have put you into the shape you are now and find healthy alternatives to these foods. The key here is to actually find alternatives that you are going to enjoy. It’s the only real chance you have at changing your food relationship towards a more healthy choice.
The other half to gaining abs or ridding the stomach fat is exercise. And not just any exercise…weightlifting and strength training is the only way to boost your metabolism enough to burn fat fast. To do this you must enable a plan to get to the gym consistently and concentrate on overall body workouts like the squat and deadlift. You don’t have to lift to get huge, just enough to give your body a workout.
Include Ab Exercise Machines:
Once you start seeing results, and you will soon enough with weight training, then you can add in some ab specific exercises to really start toning your abs. But I cannot emphasize enough that an ab exercise machine alone is not going to give you any visible results unless you are already thin and somewhat in shape.
Set up a plan and take action on your plan every day. Believe in yourself and believe in your capabilities and with consistent action you will reach your fitness goals no matter how far away you are now.
