Top Ab Workout Equipment #1 – The Swiss Ball

I can’t think of a better piece of equipment to use for your abs than the Swiss ball.  The Swiss ball is simply an air filled ball of latex that is big enough and strong enough to support your body weight so you can use it to strengthen your core.

There are some advanced ab workouts that you can use on the Swiss ball, but keeping it simple will work just as well on this ab workout equipment.  Sit your butt on it and do your normal set of crunches or trunk curls.  I promise that the Swiss ball will bring you greater results in your core than not using it.

Top Ab Workout Equipment #2 – The Ab Wheel

The ab wheel not only works you abs but also works your shoulders, arms, and back.  This piece of equipment looks like lawn mower wheels with handles for pegs.  You would simply get down on your knees and roll out slowly and roll back in to do the workout.   More advanced workouts would make you do it without your knees on the ground and to roll it out farther.  Trying to maintain good form while keeping your body balanced is why the ab wheel is number two on my list.

Top Ab Workout Equipment #3 – Foam Roller

The foam roller looks more like a stability device for large packages than it does an ab workout machine.  It simply is a large cylindrical piece of foam that you can use to really work your abs and to stretch and massage your body.  Stabiliy is the name of the game when looking to work your mid section, and stability is what this foam roller will bring to you.  You’ll not only be able to work your core, but it has been used to correct posture, massage soar areas, and improve flexibility.
